Elora, ON
Greetings from my new perspective on the world. After months of intense work I’m pleased to announce I successfully managed to pack up my entire childhood home and move it to another town altogether… lol! Not a small feat considering my parents lived in our super cool mid-century modern bungalow for nearly 50 years. Add onto that the fact that my dad never really threw anything away, just put it in the basement in case he needed it later. A million boxes and trips to the dump later, I feel pretty good about all I decided to keep… and all I needed to let go of in my life. Here’s to the next exciting chapter.
It’s hard to believe August is nearly over. Evenings are feeling colder already and I’m trying to make use of all my cute new summer outfits while I still can. Now that the move is done and some of my familial responsibilities have lessened I’ve been trying to make a point of being social and going out on the town while I’m home in Toronto. My beautiful friend Andrea Ramolo and I have been endeavouring to seek out amazing new restaurants in town and open ourselves up to new adventures. This past Saturday we hit the Ossington strip (for maybe the first time ever) and I have to report I was super impressed with the time we had. Not only did we eat some truly delicious food, Toronto was out full-force in the streets and totally winning in the fashion department. From all the glamorous young women in their naked dresses to the pink/green mohawk convention that seemed to be happening on Dundas West (not to mention the cadre of curvy gals in their matching sparkly bathing suits) everyone was totally embracing their own personal style and rockin’ it. It’s entirely possible that Toronto is just getting cooler every day.
In other news, the next big accomplishment on my list is finally finishing my Trilogies EP series with studio dates approaching! I’ll be going in with producer extraordinaire Chris Stringer at his Union Sound studio the first week after Labour Day weekend. It’s officially back to school for me. I’ve been working hard this past week on polishing up the tunes and getting everything ready for recording. Songs are sounding super sweet so far and I can’t wait to share them with you all. Stay tuned for more music news as well as my latest Adventures In Sweetland photographic mini-series coming soon.
Lots of love,
xo
