After all my big city adventures of late, it feels good to be back in the quietude of the country. Although the November grey has settled upon us, the woods still seem rife with life around here. The creatures of the forest abound… The green is full of colour and the silence full of sound.

When I was little, my dad would tell me stories every night before I went to bed. These traditionally started with “Once upon a time, in a deep dark forest…” although, he would usually say “t-orest” instead of “forest” (which made me laugh every single time.) Well here I am, in the middle of a deep dark forest, where the sun goes down in the late afternoon and even the rustlings of innocent squirrels startle me slightly when it’s too dark to see. However, I’m ready to fully embrace this coming dark season in all its glory. May it give me the cover to go inside myself and draw out magnificent things. There’s so much I look forward to accomplishing between now and equinox next – can’t wait to share it with you all.

Firstly, Trilogies Part 3 is well on its way to being a fait accompli. We still have some mixing to do, as well as adding some beautiful string sounds from the incomparable Sahra Featherstone. Look for a release date in late winter or early spring, I will keep you posted. As well, I’m planning a very cool video project to accompany the album release. Stay tuned for exciting details regarding this project coming soon!

In other news, I just ordered a fresh round of my photographic prints for our upcoming Speakeasy Soirée – Mystic Vintage Art Market on December 3rd at Wenona Lodge in Toronto. I’ll be selling both framed and unframed prints as well as my remaining sets of holiday cards and Adventures In Sweetland books.
