Toronto, ON

Happy Imbolc from sunny Corktown, Toronto, where it seems I have seen my shadow at last… It’s felt a little extra dark and extra cold this year, so I’m extra grateful for the tipping of the scales of winter. It’s been a busy time however and I’ve been hard at work bringing some new creative projects to life. I’ve officially begun work on an exciting new book project that I’ll share details about soon… omg! Also, some new music coming this year and plans for the next music video (and an incredibly gorgeous place to shoot it.)

I’m still planning some live events for this year as well, so if you’re in Ontario or the West Coast stay tuned for news of that too. I was hoping to host some kind of glamorous event in Toronto before I head to Europe in the spring, but I will have to keep you posted on that. It might be a little bit spontaneous!

In the meantime, I’ve been trying to make the best of our currently frigid environs and capture it in all its terrible beauty. I’ve been spending a lot of time up in the rolling hills of Wellington County lately, which have been utterly inundated with snow this year. Here I am in -20 degree windchill, snow overflowing my boots, yet somehow unable to keep myself from venturing further afield… because it’s just so pretty. The video loop below is part of a new photographic series of evolving images I’ve been working on for my next Adventures In Sweetland exhibition. Really looking forward to exhibiting these works as they don’t quite have the same punch in mini thumbnail format on one’s phone…. still cool though. I recommend full screen viewing if possible.

In other news, as the news just keeps on getting grimmer and grimmer by the day, a lot of folks are migrating off of the mainstream socials and onto other platforms for communicating. You can now find me on Bluesky and although I have yet to post a single thing I imagine I will be doing so soon. Additionally, as algorithms seem to have their own ideas about what they want to show us these days, I’ve decided to go back to my Welcome to Sweetland email newsletters so I can properly keep you all updated about my upcoming events and releases. If you aren’t already on my mailing list (or aren’t sure if you are) you can sign up via Mail Chimp here.

Stay warm out there and happy returning of the light.

Je t’aime,

xo

P.S. I can’t believe it’s already been a full year since I shot my La Vie (Après La Guerre) music video with with director Andrea Ramolo and cinematographer Dale Sood What an adventure that was! Check it out here.
